Dirty Rice Gaming Community Newsletter: July 2026

July brought a lot of movement across Dirty Rice Gaming.

The community welcomed a noticeable wave of new members, new names started becoming familiar ones in voice, and several new places opened for people to spend time together. We stepped into Pax Dei, launched dedicated servers for Palworld and Minecraft, completed the migration of our Dune: Awakening community to a new server home, and welcomed Sublime into our growing network of community partners.

The month had a strong sense of expansion around it. Dirty Rice now reaches into more games, more persistent worlds, and more communities than it did only a few weeks ago. Seeing members actually move into those spaces and start making them their own has been the best part.

New Faces Around Dirty Rice

One of the most encouraging things to see this month has been the number of new people finding their way into Dirty Rice.

New members have been stepping into voice, picking up game roles, joining conversations, and starting to find their place within the server. A growing member count is always nice to see, but the real energy shows up when those names begin appearing regularly around the community.

That has been happening a lot lately.

Some members arrive looking for a particular game. Others find Dirty Rice first and start exploring from there. Either way, every new person who jumps into voice, joins a group, or shows up for an event adds another personality to the community.

For everyone who recently joined us: Welcome to Dirty Rice Gaming.

Grab the roles for the games you play, jump into voice when people are hanging out, and do not worry about knowing everyone before joining an event. Most of the friendships around here started because somebody showed up one night and decided to stick around.

Pax Dei: From Vitry Toward Sanctuary

Pax Dei became one of the more personal adventures inside Dirty Rice this month as several of us started building a shared story around House Ivernoi.

The family brought together the Ivernoi and Alamanni bloodlines under the motto "From Sea and Stone, One Hearth." Lady Annelise took her place at the head of the household alongside her husband Muirgheas, their son Delvore, and a growing cast of relatives and companions including Lady Jacquelyn, Aedan, Kraylis, and Bhraea. Before long, we had an actual family tree, household traditions, relationships, and enough history behind the characters that Pax Dei started feeling like a world we were living in rather than somewhere we simply logged into.

A major part of that story centered on the family preparing to leave Vitry and seek a new home in South Aras. The move was planned around finding somewhere House Ivernoi could put down lasting roots, contribute to the people already living there, and give the next generation a place surrounded by strong neighbors and shared purpose. Sanctuary quickly became the most important connection in that plan.

That brought Lady Duine, the Lady of the Land and leader of Sanctuary, into the family's story. We spent time preparing for House Ivernoi's introduction to her, thinking through how the family would present itself, what it could offer South Aras, what local customs needed to be respected, and how a new household could earn a place within an already established region.

Somewhere along the way, we ended up spending nearly as much time talking about family history, relationships, migration, and how our characters should behave as we did gathering materials and building things.

That has been part of the fun.

Pax Dei gives us room to let those stories develop slowly. House Ivernoi now has a history behind it, a destination ahead of it, and plenty of unanswered questions waiting in South Aras. We are looking forward to seeing where the road toward Sanctuary takes the family next.

Palworld: Welcome to Pals of the Grain

Dirty Rice also opened the doors to a new dedicated Palworld server this month.

Naturally, it needed an appropriate name.

Welcome to Pals of the Grain.

The server gives our Palworld players a casual, community-friendly place to explore, build, collect Pals, and progress together without everyone scattering across unrelated public servers.

Persistent servers like this add a different kind of activity to the community. Nobody needs to wait for an event notification or a scheduled start time. Members can hop in after work, check on their base, explore for a while, help somebody else with a project, or simply see what everyone has been up to since their last login.

Over time, those little sessions start creating their own shared history.

Pals of the Grain is live and ready for anyone in Dirty Rice who wants to join us.

And yes, we are still very pleased with the name.

Minecraft: RiceCraft Finds Its Footing

RiceCraft took a little more work behind the scenes than the finished server announcement probably suggested.

The Minecraft project went through several iterations while we figured out what kind of server we actually wanted to maintain for the community. We eventually settled into Fabric 1.21.11, giving us a cleaner foundation for the experience and the flexibility to keep improving things over time.

One of the bigger decisions came when we added Terralith. Since its terrain generation is best experienced from the beginning of a world, we decided to start fresh rather than leave everyone exploring a landscape where the new generation only appeared beyond previously loaded chunks. That gave us our new Terralith world and a chance to launch RiceCraft with the terrain working the way we intended from the first day.

We also spent time preparing that world before everyone scattered across it. Chunky helped us pregenerate the surrounding terrain, while quality-of-life additions such as Essential Commands gave players some conveniences that make a persistent community server easier to live in. We even put together a dedicated player command guide so members have something useful to reference once they are in-game.

Getting into RiceCraft has its own little path through Discord as well. Members grab the Minecraft role, acknowledge the server rules, send us their character name for whitelisting, and then they are ready to head out into the world.

Now comes the part we have been waiting for.

People get to make it theirs.

Minecraft worlds become interesting because of everything players leave behind: the first little shelter that somehow turns into an estate, the mine that becomes a transportation network, somebody's completely unreasonable mega-build, farms nobody remembers volunteering to maintain, and eventually roads and landmarks connecting places that did not exist a few weeks earlier.

RiceCraft gives Dirty Rice a persistent world where that history can start accumulating.

We built the server. The community gets to decide what the map looks like when we come back to it months from now.

Dune: Awakening - Rice Moves to NA East 05

Our Dune: Awakening community had some moving to do in July.

On July 4, Rice began its migration from Nitrado NA East 14 to our new home on Nitrado NA East 05.

Moving an established survival community takes some coordination. Characters could transfer, but members also had bases, vehicles, and personal progress to account for before leaving the old server behind. During the two-week migration window, players used the vehicle backup and base reconstruction tools, returned their characters to Hagga Basin, and made the move over to the new server.

Staff remained available throughout the transition to help members get everything sorted before the old server closed.

Our new home remains:

The server continues with the same direction our Dune community already knows: PvE, story progression, economic growth, and cooperative play.

With the migration finished, Rice can get back to life on Arrakis.

If you stepped away during the move, now is a good time to check back in and see where everyone landed.

Community Partnership: Welcome, Sublime

July also brought a new community partnership with Sublime, opening another shared gaming space for Dirty Rice members.

Sublime hosts Conan Exiles Enhanced, a modded PvE server centered around cooperative exploration, combat, building, and long-term character progression.

Their version of the Exiled Lands expands the base experience with custom weapons and armor, improved thralls, farming and animal breeding, detailed character customization, and a wide range of quality-of-life additions. Light roleplay is welcome for players who enjoy it, while everyone else is free to explore, build, and progress at their own pace.

The server is still being developed, which makes this an interesting time to get involved. Players joining now have a chance to grow alongside the community as new systems and content continue taking shape.

Partnerships work best when people actually cross the bridge between communities, so anyone interested in Conan Exiles should go introduce themselves, explore the server, and spend some time with the Sublime crew.

You can find Sublime through our Partners page for their community information and server access details.

Community note: Sublime's Conan Exiles server has full nudity enabled.

More Places to Play Together

Looking back at July, Dirty Rice seemed to spread out in every direction.

Members settled into Pax Dei. Pals of the Grain opened for Palworld. RiceCraft gave Minecraft players a new world. Our Dune community successfully moved across Arrakis. Sublime opened another door through Conan Exiles.

At the same time, new people were finding their way into Dirty Rice itself.

That combination fits the kind of community we have been working toward. People do not always play the same game forever. Interests change. New releases pull people away for a while. Somebody spends a month buried in an MMO, jumps into a survival game the next week, shows up for an FPS night on Friday, and ends the weekend screaming with everyone during Spooky Sunday.

Dirty Rice gives those players a familiar group to come back to.

The game can change without forcing everyone to start over socially.
